This water treatment facility was partly destroyed during the civil war and has been restored with the help of Dutch students and engineers. PowerNed is responsible for its maintenance and operations until the government can take charge.
Sierra Leone Now! supports the waterplant with technical and financial support, partly through PowerNed. We operate as intermediate to connect Dutch companies to this project which provide them with hardware and subsidy for commodities. Our goal is to get this project towards self-solvability within three years with the ‘Powerned corporate social responsibility program’. Also the goal is to change the waterpurification method to a more durable one, as opposed to the chemicals that are in use today.
