This project has a special place in our hearts. In the northern city of Makeni, St. Joseph School for the Hearing Impaired has provided hearing impaired children with the necessary education to make a living and contribute to the future of Sierra Leone. The school pays special attention to tailoring, cooking, agriculture and commerce.
It is not only a school, but also a hostel and a social workshop combined, giving opportunities to the children to put into practice and show their skills while they are learning. This school can use all help it can get, as children with hearing impediments usually have low chances in Sierra Leone.
We try to help them in several ways. Whenever we can, we provide them with computers, spend the night with our guests to boost their income and contribute to their learning, or supply lesson material or other support. For more information about St. Joseph’s mission and good work, visit their website and learn how you can contribute.
